Champagne gifts
CHARLES HEIDSIECK ARMCHAIR ROSÉ + 2 FLUTES SET
This family-owned house is the smallest of Les Grandes Marques punching well above its weight with award wins! Awarded Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards and Gold at the International Wine Challenge in 2021.
This base wine made from the three traditional varieties includes a small percentage of red wine blended with 20% reserve wine before bottling. Ageing their non-vintage Rosé for between 4 and 6 years – substantially longer than the legal requirement – provides added complexity and richness. Delicately coral coloured with lifted aromas of strawberries and almond brioche, there is a warm richness with cinnamon and gingerbread notes.

CHARLES HEIDSIECK BRUT RÉSERVE NV GIFT BOX
This family-owned house is the smallest of Les Grandes Marques and punches well above its weight when it comes to award wins! Including the NV Champagne Trophy winner at the 2018 International Wine Challenge.
This blend of the three main Champagne varieties uses 40% reserve wine (with an average age of 10 years). Choosing to age their non-vintage Champagne for over 4 years – substantially longer than the 15-month legal requirement – provides added complexity and richness. Notes of buttery, pastry aromas combine with mango and apricot fruit and nutty notes redolent of almond and pistachio, on the long finish. Lovely!

CHARLES HEIDSIECK NV BRUT RÉSERVE, ROSÉ & BLANC DE BLANCS HALF BOTTLE TRIO IN GIFT BOX

DEVAUX CUVÉE ROSÉ GIFT BOXED
Devaux are Pinot Noir and Rosé specialists. This lovely rosé is predominantly Pinot Noir with some Chardonnay included in the blend. Aged on lees after the 2nd fermentation in the bottle for 3 years and with a 9g/l dosage, this is dry but very approachable. Complex, creamy mouthfeel with a red berry profile – think raspberry and strawberry, with a nutty autolytic character. Great champagne at a brilliant price, made all the more special with the gift box.

SANDEMAN ‘VAU’ VINTAGE PORT 1999
Like Vintage ports but don’t like the prices? Then look no further! The grapes for the ‘Vau’ Vintage Port. come from Sandeman’s 73-hectare Quinta do Vau estate. Marked by pronounced aromas of ripe red fruit (berry and cherry), dried fruits are also evident – think raisin and fig, with an earthy complexity from the decades of bottle age. Predominantly made from Tinta Roriz this blend from the 1999 Vintage is a great introduction to vintage port at prices that won’t break the bank.

FERREIRA ‘DONA ANTÓNIA’ 20 YEAR OLD TAWNY PORT IN GIFT TUBE
I love nothing more than a good Tawny port, and this is right up there with one of the best. Enough age to give it oodles of complexity.
This multi-award winner is chock full of dried fruits (think apricot and figs) with roasted nuts, toffee, caramel, and baking spice notes. Deeply flavoured, elegant and immensely long. this is a gorgeous drop.

INNISKILLIN ICEWINES
If you like sweet wines you really need to try Icewine – this stuff really is ‘nectar from the gods’! Made by freezing grapes on the vine and pressing while frozen, extracting small amounts of concentrated sweet juice, Inniskillin are one of the best exponents of the style. Both wines use the hybrid grape Vidal which is commonly used in Canada for Icewine production, and these two wines are truly not to be missed, including, if you truly fancy something different, the unique sparkling Icewine. Exotic and honeyed yet fresh on the palate.
Each come with presentation box for the perfect gift if you are feeling very generous! You will not find these wines at a better price anywhere!

New Zealand ‘Abstract’ Duo
Like Kiwi wines, bored of Savvy and Pinot Noir and want to try something a bit different? Here are two fabulous wines: From Trinity Hill we have a Chardonnay— it has some oak, but the acidity is so fresh and linear that the combination is a real winner. Grapefruit, white blossom, hints of roasted nuts— this wowed judges at the IWC wining the Trophy for best White wine.
Then from Blank Canvas we have a stunning cool-climate Syrah that takes the Northern Rhone as it’s inspiration. Aromatic and elegant, the unusual co-fermentation with Grüner Veltliner adding white pepper savouriness to the smoky red and black fruit and violet florals.

South African Stunners
South Africa has a huge array of wines and wine styles, its hard to pick two! For this duo we have:
A white from Gabriëlskloof: this Semillon which has a smidgeon (10%) of Sauvignon Blanc is a stylish wine. Fermented and aged in large French oak barrels, the result in a wine which is hugely textural and aromatic. Crisp green apple meets, quince, honey and macadamia nougat. Classy. The red is the entry level label from top producer Mollineux, Kloof Street’s Swartland Rouge is an intriguing blend of Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Grenache and Tinta Barroca. Bold, fresh and aromatic, with integrated tannins and pronounced favours of black fruits and smoky spice.
